KANPUR: Hearing in the case against Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) could not take place on Saturday as presiding officer of civil judge, senior division, Kanpur Nagar court was on leave. The link officer additional civil judge, senior divison second, Mridul Mishra ordered to put the case before the original court and fixed November 23 as next date for hearing.
The counsels Yateendra Shukla and Rahul Pandey appeared before the court of link officer but hearing initial hearing in a related case, the presiding officer adjourned the hearing and fixed it for Monday.

Rahul Pandey, the lawyer, had filed a petition on November 4 before the court of civil judge, senior division, Kanpur Nagar and sought an injunction order against UPCA.
The petitioner had also urged the court to restrain UPCA from conducting the forthcoming Test match against Sri Lanka slated to be held at Green Park stadium on November 24. The organising body was a private limited company and it should be directed not to use words Uttar Pradesh and did not collect any advertisement or fund in the name of Uttar Pradesh .
In another relief, the petitioner sought an order by which court should declare that Cricket Association was not eligible to use words Uttar Pradesh as its use was illegal according to a government notification.
UPCA counsel had filed its objection on Friday last and pleaded to reject the petition with cost.
