KANPUR: The prosecution will present its submission on Saturday when additional district and sessions judge Vijay Laxmi will hear the second bail application of Peeyush Kumar Verma, an accused in the much-publicized Divya murder case.
Divya alias Anushka’s case had shocked the city on September 27, 2010. Divya, a nine years old girl and student of Bharti Gyan Sthali School, Ganesh Nagar was subjected to inhuman behavior on that day in the school and she later succumbed to her internal injuries.The police had registered a report on September 27 and arrested Munna on October 6, 2010 and claimed to solve the case.
Munna was later proved innocent and discharged by the court.
The earlier investigation from September 27 to October 24, 2010 was done by the civil police. Thereafter, the investigation was carried out by CB-CID and later Peeyush Kumar Verma, Mukesh Verma, Chandrapal Verma and Santosh Kumar Mishra were arrested and charged under Section 302/3077/376/511 of IPC. It was second bail application of Peeyush Kumar Verma, who, according to the prosecution, is main accused. Chandra Pal Verma and Mukesh Verma are out on bail.
Peeyush and Santosh Kumar Mishra are still in jail. The court is also hearing the bail application of Mishra.
