GSVM incidents: SIT probe begins

KANPUR: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the SSP on the orders of Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court started investigation into the February 28 incidents at GSVM Medical College students.
SIT headed by Circle Officer, Kalyanpur, Jeetendra Srivastava visited GSVM Medical College and recorded the statements of principal, Dr Navneet Kumar, professor Dr RP Sharma, Dr Ambrish Gupta and proctor, Dr Sanjay Kala.
The CO visited the hostels to see the condition.
Meanwhile, the SIT issued a notice to the students of the medical college asking them to appear before it and to get their statements recorded. These students include those who were injured and later admitted at the LLR Hospital.
The students on the other hand formed a human chain and took out a candle march in the protest against the February 28 incident. The students said that they have full faith in the judicial inquiry and eagerly waiting for the judicial probe to start.
The medical college students expressed anger against the principal, stating that no security arrangements have been made at the hostels.
