Golden Sporting beat Olympic Club by 156 runs in Red Chief League

Opener Abhinesh Tiwari’s unbeaten century helped Golden Sporting to beat Olympic Club by a margin of 156 runs in Red Chief Kanpur Cricket League being played at Rovers ground here on Monday.
Golden Sporting deciding to bat first scored 259 for 5 in 32 overs. Opener Abhinesh Tiwari carried the bat throughout the innings and returned unbeaten on 101. He faced 77 balls and hit 14 boundaries and a six in his unbeaten knock.

Golden Sporting got a jolt in the very first over when his another opener Umang was declared run out for no score. Abhinesh and Saurabh Singh later balanced the situation by adding 81 runs in their second wicket union. Saurabh contributed 49 runs in 46 balls.
In the middle order, Anurag Dixit supported Tiwari very well from the other end and two added 129 runs in their partnership. Dixit in his unbeaten innings chipped 50 runs scored with the help of 7 boundaries and 40 balls. For Olympic Club, Nageshwar Om bagged 3 wickets. Yashraj Bhatia picked one wicket.
Olympic Club in reply collapsed on mere 103 runs in just 10 overs. Their eight batsmen failed to reach in double figure and, six out of them, even failed to open their account.
Siddharth Srivastava and Yash Kumar scored 19 and 20 runs respectively. For Golden Sporting Tejaswi Raj and Shashank Shekhar bagged three wickets each while Saurbh Singh scalped two wickets.
Nikhil Srivastava’s fine unbeaten knock of 61 runs helped host IIT to beat Glory Club by 4 wickets in another match. Glory Club, after being invited to bat first, scored 114 runs.
Their top three batsmen Tribhuwan Dixit, Ravi Kumar and Rahul Kumar Yadav were the main scorers who contributed 16, 43 and 24 runs respectively. Their four batsmen could not open their account while three others failed to reach in double figure. Devanshu Arya bagged five wickets for 7 runs. Vaibhav Pandey, Amit Kamar Meena both captured two wickets each.

IIT, chasing the target achieved it, losing 6 wickets. Besides Nikhil, Vaibhav Yadav contributed 32 runs to his team. Neeraj Sharma and Kapil Bhatia of Glory Club bagged 4 and 2 wickets respectively.
Star club in another low scoring match played at Palika stadium drubbed Vedic Union by 7 wickets. Vedic Union, batting first, garnered 144 runs in 26.4 overs. Openers Vineet Mishra (36) and Vikrant Singh (35) gave Vedic Union a flying start hitting 76 runs in their partnership. But, once they departed from the crease, wickets fell at regular interval. In the middle order, Mohd Anas chipped 28 runs. Their last two batsmen did not appear in the
middle as a result they had to finish their inning on 26.4 overs. For Star Club, Nilesh Mishra and Montu Kumar both captured 2 wickets for 21 and 14 runs respectively.
Star Club in response hit the required 148 runs after losing two wickets in 17.4 overs. Though they lost opener Montu kumar (4), but other batsmen played displayed well and won the match. Chandrabhan Singh and Alok Yadav both scored 48 and unbeaten 50 runs respectively. Vineet and Neeraj both picked one wicket each.
