Field Gun Factory defeated Jal Sansthan by 7 wickets in Red Chief Kanpur office cricket league at Field Gun Factory ground on Saturday.
Jal Sansthan’s decision to bat first proved wrong as the team could manage 94 for 8 in 20 overs. Due to fog and bad light in the morning, the match started late and with the consent of both teams, the umpires reduced the match to 20 overs.
Only S P Shukla , Arvind Verma and
Dharmendra Kumar could reach double figures. For Field Gun, Gyan Singh and
Sunil Kumar captured 4 and 2 wickets respectively.
In reply, Field Gun Factory hit 98 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 13.5 overs and won the match. Opener Amit Singh played a fine innings of 53 runs in 37 balls. He hit 10 boundaries. Prashant Dixit and Dharam Raj took one wicket each.
S D Tiwari and Madan Singh Rawat’s half centuries helped Income Tax department outplay UPSIDC by 7 wickets in another match held at Rovers Ground.
Put in to bat first UPSIDC scored 150 for 8 in 25 overs. Opener Sonjoy Yadav hit highest 78 runs for his side hitting 9 boundaries and two sixes in 82 balls. N C Shukla was successful bowler, claiming four wickets for 21 runs.
Income Tax, in reply, got a sound start from Shivendu Srivastava and S D Tiwari and achieved the target losing 3 wickets. The pair added 51 runs in their opening wicket partnership. Srivastava scored 31 runs plundering four boundaries and a six. Tiwari and Madan Singh made the target easy. Tiwari scored 53 runs while Madan returned unbeaten on 50 runs. Sonjoy Yadav of UPSIDC bagged both the wickets.
