Father beheads his daughter over a love-affair
In a brutal case of `honour' killing, a father beheaded his daughter after learning she was having an affair with a youth of the same village.
The police later sent the body for post-mortem examination. Anju for the last few years had a relationship with a village youth, which her father Jhallar knew about. Girl's father was against the relationship and on several occasions, had reprimanded her to stay away from the youth.
"On Monday, he caught his daughter Anju red handed while she had gone to meet the youth. First, he attacked Anju with `lathi' and later used a sharp-edged weapon to kill her, girl's lover, however, managed to escape," a police official at Kokhraj polce station told TOI. As per the statement given to the police by the accused Jhallar, he tried to convince his daughter Anju several times that by continuing the relationship with village youth or running away, she will bring a bad name for the family, police official added.
After severely attacking the girl with `lathi', the accused finally beheaded his daughter with a sharp-edged weapon. A senior police official said: "We have arrested Jhallar and he had confessed the crime, a case of murder registered against him and further investigations are underway."
