Eleven Star Club humble Angel Women by 9 wickets

Kanpur: Eleven Star Club outplayed Angel Women Club by 9 wickets in the KDMA league match held at the Sapru ground on Friday.Angel Women, batting first, scored 117 runs in 34.2 overs. Eleven Star in reply hit the required 118 runs for the loss of one wicket in 17.5 overs. Ayush and Ayush Yadav hit 41 and unbeaten 65 runs respectively.Brief score: Angel Women-117 (Archana Devi 23, Ishika Srivastava 17, Shivi Singh 17, Rishabh Singh 3 for 21, HariOm Maurya 2 for 31), Eleven Star-1 for 118, (Ayush 41, Ayush Yadav 65 no, Siddhi Mishra 1 for 26).Selection: CISCE North Zone and South Zone swimming selection trials were held at the KDMA World School here on Friday. Swimmers of around 9 schools participated in the trial which was inaugurated by the principal of Supriya Raja School. The selected swimmers are:KDMA World-Naman Yadav, Suryansh, Riya Katiyar, Akshita Rawat (all U-17), Shreya Shukla, Harsh Khan, Areesha Ahmad (all U-19), Sheiling House-Devansh Dixit (U-14), St Aloysius’ School- Raghav Awasthi (U-17), Rhythm Mehrotra (U-14), JN Shah School Unnao-Agastya Gupta, SA Jaipuria School-Atharva Pandey (U-14), Virendra Swarup Cantt. Arunima Gupta.Chess: Satyendra Singh of Uttar Pradesh became the youngest FIDE arbiter in chess. He cleared the national arbiter exam in September 2019. Thereafter, he achieved four norms in Indore and Bhubaneswar. In December 2022, after getting recognition from FIDE he got an opportunity to appear in FIDE counselling. According to secretary, Kanpur Chess Association Dilip Srivastava, now Kanpur has 6 arbiters. Two out of them are FIDE arbiters and 4 of the national level.
