Effigy of Swami Prasad Maurya burnt

Kanpur: The members of Kanpur Lawyers Association staged a protest and burnt the effigy of Samajwadi Party national general secretary Swami Prasad Maurya at the Shatabdi gate of the district court on Wednesday. The advocates said that the day Swami Prasad Maurya would come to Kanpur, the advocate community would blacken his face and hit him with shoes.
Former Joint Secretary of Bar and Advocate Ranjay Singh said Swami Prasad Maurya, who had made objectionable remarks, will not be allowed to step in Kanpur from now onwards.He said that Maurya will have to take back his statement on the holy book- Ramcharitmanas. tnn
