KANPUR: District magistrate
Sameer Verma on Saturday directed the officials to solve the problems related to basic civic amenities such as roads, power, and water in industrial areas on priority basis.
In a meeting of Udyg Bandhu held at collectorate auditorium, the district magistrate said power failure and water logging should be solved in a manner that it never happens again.
Out of order road lights in Panki industrial area should be repaired. He also asked the officials to depute a joint team of municipal corporation and police to remove the encroachment behind Panki site number 2 and bypass on January 12, 2014.
Directing the SP traffic police, Sameer Verma said, "depute traffic police picket at GT road business area so that traffic jams on either side of railway crossing could be avoided. And implement one way at Gumit number 5 and Coca cola crossing." He added that there were complaints about trucks being parked in haphazard manner as a result of which people witnessed frequent traffic jams. To solve this problem, SP Gramin and Traffic police conducted a joint survey and identified the place for parking of trucks and asked the truck drivers to park their vehicles at the stipulated spot.
In another direction to Kesco officials, the district magistrate asked them to replace the junk poles and hanging power wires at Transport Nagar.
