KANPUR: Getting legalisation and translation of documents in Arabic and non-uniformity in the charges are few of the problems being faced by the Indian exporters in promotion of trade with the Arab states. This was highlighted during an interactive session with chief representative of League of Arab States mission Ahmed Salem al-Wahishi on Saturday.
The session was organised by Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) in order to promote trade with Arab League.
"In Arab League, around 30 per cent of the trade is with GCC countries while the trade with the rest of the world is less," Joint DDG FIEO Sunil Agnihotri said.
Regarding the problems, Wahishi advised the participants to participate in international exhibitions in the Arab states, hold meetings, sign MoUs in order to enhance trade with these countries. He said that the Arab states are planning to open Indo-Arab Chamber of Commerce in New Delhi to boost trade and economic relations between the two sides.
"In order to promote trade, a conclave would be organised in New Delhi where the represnetatives of the 16 to 18 Arab states would take part. We would discuss means and mechanism of promoting trade with India," Wahishi added.
