Kanpur:
Samajwadi Party (SP) national general secretary Shivpal Yadav on Saturday said that Dharmendra Yadav will also contest the Lok Sabha elections.
"Dharmendra's name will also be released soon, and in this regard he had already spoken to the party’s national president," he said while unveiling statue of the party founder and his late brother Mulayam Singh Yadav at Prahlad Smarak Inter College in Chaupla, Etawah.
It is noteworthy that in the third list released recently, the name of SP national general secretary Shivpal Yadav has been announced for the Lok Sabha candidate from Badaun.
Once Badaun was the seat of Dharmendra Yadav. However, in 2019, he lost to BJP's Sanghmitra, daughter of Swami Prasad Maurya. Later, he was again fielded in the 2022 bypoll from Azamgarh, the seat vacated by Akhilesh Yadav, but this time, he lost to BJP's Bhojpuri film star Dinesh Yadav alias Nirhua Yadav.
Shivpal said the BJP government is becoming a party of liars. “Crime graph is on rise in UP, people's houses are being demolished unnecessarily and the police administration is carrying out fake encounters.
Here, the aim of the police is so accurate that it directly hits the criminal's leg. The government is making false claims that the security system in the state is working fine”, the SP leader alleged.
On the unveiling of Mulayam Singh Yadav's statue, he said that Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) always raised the voice of the farmers, the poor and the underprivileged people and fought for them, that is why he has been a popular leader in the entire state.
