Despite paying hefty revenue, Kanpur facing severe power rostering
Despite paying a hefty sum of Rs 195 crores as revenue in the month of September, industrial city fails to get power supply for 24 hours. For the first time in its history Kanpur electricity supply company (Kesco) has given such a huge amount of revenue to the state government, but city is facing indiscriminate powercuts. On Tuesday over six hours of rostering was done including the powercut done at 10.45pm for two hours time.

Kesco stated that rostering is being done by Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited.
For past few days the powercuts are occurring on a daily basis for a minimum of four hours to over six hours on Tuesday. In the month of September, rostering was rampant despite the fact that this month had been declared as rostering free.
Kesco spokesperson RD Pandey informed that the powercuts are being done by UPPCL and not by Kesco. He acknowledged that such a power scenario is due to severe rostering being done by UPPCL.
Such an erratic power supply has been troubling the denizens who are not being able to take sound sleep and relax. The rostering is particularly done during the night hours for a minimum of two hours which has been affecting city denizens very badly.
