DAV students assault contractor, damage property

KANPUR: Scores of students of Dayanand Anglo Vedic (DAV) College went berserk following a petty dispute and created ruckus on college campus. The students pelted stones, broke the furniture of the college and thrashed the stand contractor, here on Monday.
Reportedly, a student of the college, along with his supporters, had entered into a heated argument with the stand contractor after he was not allowed to park his vehicle in no-parking zone.The students, thereafter started beating up the stand contractor and created ruckus on the campus. By the time, the police personnel reached the venue, the students fearing any action by the cops, dispersed. However, the student union president of college, Amit Dixit dismissed it as a trivial issue and part of the college life.
