CSJMU, Russian univ to work on student exchange progs

Kanpur: For the first time, CSJM University, Kanpur, has signed an MoU with one of the most prestigious universities in Russia - the Petrozavodsk State University (PSU). The official announcement of the MoU was made jointly by Head of the International Department of Petrozavodsk State University Professor Marina Gosdeva & Vice-Chancellor of CSJMU, Kanpur, Professor Vinay Kumar Pathak in an online meeting. At this event, Head of the International Cell, Dr Prabhat Diwedi, mentioned about the research and courses conducted in various schools. On this occasion, MoU was announced by showing copies of the MoU signed by the both the Universities. Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Vinay Kumar Pathak talked about ancient relations between India and Russia. He said that this MoU will encourage student mobility across borders and universities from Russia. “In future, we will invite interested students and researchers to study for a semester or conduct research in different fields via exchange programmes. These programmes are an ingenious way of gaining international exposure and learning from remarkable faculty and peers”, said Professor Pathak. From the Russian side, Professor Marina Gosdeva (PSU) gave a presentation about their schools and departments. She said PSU is leading in the research in Civil engineering and disease biology field. She expressed hope that in the future, the PSU and Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj University will jointly try to announce international fellowships in various areas and university scholarships for students from both sides, thereby facilitating the exchange of students and faculty. Vice Head of the International Cell at CSJMU, Dr Rajeev Mishra assured Professor Marina Gosdeva of Russia that on behalf of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, they would soon prepare department-wise proposals for the Student Exchange Programme, Faculty Exchange Programme, academic and research partnership with Russian University. The programme also witnessed the participation of delegations from Russia, Tamara Kuchko, Director of the Institute of Biology, Ecology, and Agricultural Technologies; Vadim Kostukevich, Director of the Institute of Forestry, Mining, and Construction Sciences; Natalia Ermishina, Director of the Institute of Economics and Law, Oksana Prokhorova, Professor, Institute of Economics and Law, Dmitrii Korzun, Professor of the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies, Deputy Head of the Artificial Intelligence Centre, and Galina Parikhina, Head of Department of International Projects and Programmes.
