Criminal shot dead by rivals in Beconganj

Kanpur: An alleged history-sheeter was shot dead by six motor-cycle borne youths in the busy Fazal Husain Ka Hata area under the limits of Beconganj police station on Sunday night. Panic gripped the area following the murder. According to reports, Shanu Badshah alias Arif Jamal, son of Anees and a resident of Fazal Husain Ka Hata in Beconganj, was standing in front of his house with his siblings when he was attacked.He was rushed to Ursala Horseman hospital, where he was declared dead by the doctors.
The assailants escaped in the by-lanes of the area. Eye-witnesses said the assailants also fired several shots in the air. A few days back Shanu had a heated arguments with his rivals over property as was being threatened, cops said. There were nearly nine cases of heinous crime pending against Shanu bwith the Beconganj police. An FIR has been lodged against unidentified assailants with Beconganj police station against Shanu and Kalu Carlos on the basis of complaint filed by Shanu’s parents, said SSP Shalabh Mathur.
