Kanpur: The District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), Kanpur, will conduct ‘Swachata Jagrukta’ programme from October 2 to 9, 2023 in the city to mark Gandhi Jayanti.Kanpur DLSA secretary and additional district and session judge Shubhi Gupta said that the programme will be held under the leadership of Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court/UP State Legal Service Authority. ‘Prabhat Pheri’ will be organized at block, tehsil and district levels under the supervision of the head of ‘Swachata Jagrukta’ campaign, she added.

DLSA ends marital dispute of intl cricketer

The District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) has resolved the dispute between blind international cricketer Sujit Munda and his wife through mediation. The wife had complained that her husband was not providing financial support and suspected him of having an affair. After several sessions, the couple agreed to respect each other and live in harmony. The DLSA also conducted a training program on suicide prevention and India and Brazil are in talks to resolve a sugar-related trade dispute at the WTO.

HC seeks status of district police complaint authority

The Gujarat high court has asked the state government about the status of the district-level police complaint authority during a hearing of a PIL regarding an incident of police extortion. The court inquired about the formation of the complaint authority at the district level and requested information from the government. The court has adjourned the hearing until Friday. The case involves two policemen and a traffic regulation brigade volunteer allegedly extorting money from a couple near a toll plaza.

Programmes welcoming CM start on October 2

The Chief Minister's office is expected to be shifted to Visakhapatnam in October. A non-political joint action committee has planned a series of programs to welcome CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, including rallies, cultural activities, and religious prayers. Special prayers and programs will be conducted at popular temples in the region. Additionally, a massive rally will be held on October 15. In other news, IIM Visakhapatnam has partnered with NIT-Warangal and IIITDM Kurnool to launch a specialized MBA program for engineering students. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced that the state administration will shift to Visakhapatnam on October 24. Madurai Kamaraj University will conduct a Common Entrance Test for PhD/M Phil admissions on October 8.
