KANPUR: A meeting of Civil Defence wardens was held on Monday evening under the chairmanship of deputy controller, Civil Defence, Kanpur, Shivraj Singh to review the law and order situation and arrangements for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
"Besides putting in place Civil Defence wardens in sensitive areas, the district administration has conducted an exercise to keep a check on troublemakers and ensure maintenance of the law and order," Singh said.

All Civil Defence wardens have been asked to keep a watch on anti-social elements, he said.
"We will depute Civil Defence volunteers at Ganesh Chaturthi pandals. If they come across law-breakers, they have been directed to apprised senior district authorities," he added.
T he volunteers of civil defence will ensure peace in their respective areas. The public committees comprise prominent and respectable citizens from various communities, who monitor the situation.He urged the people to ensure peace and not get carried away by emotions. "We should not give ear to rumours spread by anti-social elements," he said.A large number of Cvil Defence wardens, including chief warden RK Saffad and others were present. TNN
