‘Childhood dream’ comes true as Rehmat Ali becomes Hrithik Sharma

Kanpur: A Muslim labourer Rehmat Ali living in Babupurwa area of Kanpur converted to Hinduism on Monday.The young man said he had strong faith in Hinduism since childhood and that he has now become Hrithik Sharma from Rehmat Ali by adopting Hinduism. He said his childhood dream is now fulfilled.Rehmat Ali (23), is originally a resident of Balamau in Hardoi. His maternal grandmother lives in the Babupurwa area of the City.He came here three months ago to earn a livelihood. He said in his childhood days, he used to participate in Ganesh Puja, Ramlila, along with friends. He said he had also participated in the Kanwar Yatra.For the past few days, he was regularly visiting Shri Durga Temple located in the Bakarganj area of the city.He joined a group of Bajrang Dal workers and on Monday, he adopted Hinduism with complete rituals and changed his name to Hrithik.Bajrang Dal activist Pankaj Yadav said he converted to Hinduism as per his personal wish. “We are now consulting legal experts to get the youth’s name changed officially. “His family members have also been informed,” said Yadav.
