Car catches fire on road

KANPUR: A moving car caught fire and was reduced to ashes at crowded Bada Chauraha crossing of Kanpur on Tuesday.
No casualty was reported. The police said that the car, belonging to Ehsan Khan of Rae Bareli, was speeding towards Somdutt Plaza when flames started coming out of the engine. As the car came to a halt, the occupants ran out. A fire tender from Latouche Road fire station reached the spot and doused the flames.
Fire brigade officials said the reason for fire could be short circuit.
The traffic came to a halt for about half-an-hour in the area.
