Cannabis worth Rs 1 crore seized from vehicle in Zarib Chowki

In a major haul, cannabis (ganja) worth over Rs1 crores was recovered from a four-wheeler in Zarib Chowki on Friday night.The two occupants of the vehicle fled on seeing the police.

KANPUR: In a major haul, cannabis (ganja) worth over Rs 1 crore was recovered from a four-wheeler in Zarib Chowki on Friday night. The two occupants of the vehicle fled on seeing the police.
During search, the cops found 100 kg of cannabis kept beneath the seats. A driving license was also recovered from the vehicle. The police are not ruling out the involvement of international syndicate in the smuggling.

Five held for theft in minister's house: Five persons of a gang were arrested in connection with recent theft at minister Kamlesh Pathak's house. Police claimed that the gang was involved in many other of thefts.
Working on information, the team caught domestic help Kaushal and his four accomplices, who had worked as plumber and electrician at the minister's house in Awas Vikas Colony in Kalyanpur on Saturday.
Kaushal was the master-mind of the theft which took place on February 15. Another member of the gang identified as Kallu is still absconding. The booty, including cash and electronic gadgets, were recovered from them.
The theft took place when Pathak and his family members had gone to their native village in Auraiya district. He is the chairman of Pradeshik Cooperative Sericulture Federation (PCSF).
