JHANSI: Five persons, including a woman, who had kidnapped a 15-yr-old boy in
Jhansi on Saturday, were arrested from a house on Sunday night. Six other accomplices managed to escape.
Uddesh Anuragi, a student of class 11, went to meet someone after receiving a call on Saturday evening. When he did not return till late at night, his parents got disturbed and started searching him.
His father Tulsidas Anuragi is an engineer in irrigation department posted at Talbeth mother Sunita is a teacher in the same school in which Uddesh is studying.
On Sunday morning, his motorcycle was found at the railway station. Uddesh’s mother got a call, in which the caller said that her son has been abducted and demanded Rs 80 lakhs as ransom, failing which they will kill the boy and also threatened not to approach the police. The parents approached the police. The police placed the number under surveillance from which the call was made. A team led by SO city raided a house in Supper Colony from where the five accused were caught. Uddesh was found chained to a cot and drugged on the terrace of the same house.
SSP Shivsagar Singh said that the house belonged to Yunus Khan. He and nine other persons planned the kidnapping. The mastermind is Ankit Yadav, who knows the boy. Ankit Yadav, Shivam Chauhan, Vikki Goswami, Bunty Verma and Shanno wife of Yunus Khan were arrested. Yunus Khan, Raseed, Ashu Musalman, Sameer and Rahul Verma, all from Jhansi and involved in petty crimes, managed to escape.
One 9mm pistol, two cartridges, one .32 bore revolver and two knives were recovered from the arrested persons.
