KANPUR: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members on Saturday evening celebrated announcement of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi as NDA's prime ministerial candidate for the Lok Sabha polls 2014.
The party workers distributed sweets and burnt fire crackers to express joy. They gathered at the Chawla Market Crossing in Govind Nagar and distributed sweets to every passerby. BJP leaders Kaushal Kishore Dixit, Bhupendra Tripathi and Prakash Veer Arya distributed sweets and congratulated the people on Narendra Modi's nomination.

BJP workers said that handing over the reigns to Modi was a wise-decision and would ensure party's victory in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. They exuded confidence that Modi would be able to arrest economic slowdown.
The BJP workers also danced to the beats of dhol. Women workers participated in the celebrations and said that they wanted Narendra Modi as PM. A few BJP workers said that Narendra Modi was the favourite of youth, corporate sector and the businessman community. They said that only Modi could end inflation, corruption and scams.
