Assembly Speaker opens MP-MLA sports in Maharajpur
Kanpur: Assembly speaker Satish Mahana inaugurated the seventh phase of the MP-MLA Sports Competitions in Maharajpur Assembly constituency on Sunday. The competitions are being organised across the state by the youth welfare department in schools and colleges in Maharajpur Assembly constituency, Kanpur Nagar. The competitions include a total of 11 sports, including athletics, kabaddi, volleyball, kho-kho, wrestling, weightlifting, tug-of-war, chess, judo, football, and badminton in junior, sub-junior, and senior categories for male and female players.Athletics, kabaddi, badminton, and kho-kho competitions were organised at Axis College and Acharya Raghuveer Inter College on Sunday. In the 400-metre race junior category, Antima Yadav secured the first place and Sarojini second, while in the sub-junior boys' category, Arpit Kumar won the first place and Rishabh Pal secured second. In the kabaddi sub-junior category, Acharya Raghuveer Inter College team emerged victorious, and in the girls' category, Bhaskaranand Inter College registered a win. In the volleyball junior girls' category, Anshika Singh, Priya Yadav, Saumya Vishwakarma, Janvi, Sajal, and Khushiyal Singh delivered notable performances.In the 100-metre race, Alina secured first and Uzma second, while in the 800-metre race, Srishti won first place.
In the sub-junior category 800 metres, Surya Pratap Singh emerged victorious. In the kho-kho girls' competition, the team of Yashvi, Sonam, Nivedita, Shivani, Palak, Khushi, Janvi, and Anshika won. In the 800-metre race, Shanti Kamal Singh registered a win, while in the 200-metre race, Vivek Yadav and Naman Kushwaha emerged victorious. In the 800-metre girls' category, Anjali Maurya secured first and Astha Singh Bhadauria second place. In the junior category 200-metre race, Akanksha Yadav secured first place. Speaker Satish Mahana also distributed encouragement materials to the youth welfare department's Yuvak Mangal Dal and Mahila Mangal Dal. Approximately 1,000 students from various schools, including Acharya Inter College, Bhaskaranand Inter College, Allen House, Axis College, and Dayanand Vidya Niketan, participated in the competitions.MP-MLA Sports Competition events will be organised in Bithoor Assembly constituency from Dec 8 to Dec 10. All participants are requested to ensure a maximum number of youth companions register on the MP Sports Festival portal.
