Air Force Family Welfare Assn day celebrated
Kanpur: As a part of Air Force Family Welfare Association (AFFWA) Day, various activities and competitions were organised on Monday at air force station in Kanpur. The event started early morning with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, wherein the personnel of the station cleaned the premises. A cycle race was organised for kids and ‘sanginis’. The race was for kids of different age groups, like 2 to 4 years age, 5 to 7 years age, 8 to 12 years age and 13 to 16 years.

A saree walkathon was organised for ‘sanginis’ in which 300 women took part. Also, a separate walkathon was conducted for the air warriors in traditional dress. A total of 400 air warriors of the station actively participated in the competition and winners for each category were awarded by Megha Praveen, the president of AFFWA. tnn

Mumbai: BMC to take various measures to control air pollution due to construction activities
The BMC has issued a circular to control environmental pollution caused by construction activities in Mumbai. The circular mandates various measures to be taken, such as using wind-breaking sheets around construction sites and covering scaffolding with tarpaulin or green cloth. Regular cleaning of these materials and on-site crushing of demolition material are also required. These guidelines are to be followed by all ongoing and proposed building construction works in the city.
Himachal Pradesh: Air Force evacuates critical patient in complete darkness
The Indian Air Force successfully evacuated a critical patient from Bhuntar in Himachal Pradesh in a late-night operation. The patient, an army personnel, was airlifted using an Mi-17 chopper from New Delhi. The operation was carried out in complete darkness using night vision goggles. This is not the first time the Air Force has provided assistance in such situations, as they had previously lifted critically ill patients during landslides and flash floods, as well as rescued residents during a flood in Kangra district.
