Agra win veteran cricket championship

Kanpur: Agra won the state level inter-district veteran cricket championship defeating Rampur by 5 wickets in the final held here at Green park stadium on Sunday.Rampur, deciding to bat first, posted a total of 136 for 9 wickets in stipulated 25 overs. Deepak Sharma was the highest scorer for the team with 30 runs. For Agra, Jaiveer picked 4 wickets. Agra in reply hit required 140 runs for the loss of 5 wickets with the help of Javed’s 41 runs.After the final Anand Prakash Tiwari joint police commissioner distributed the prizes to two teams. Deepak Sharma of Rampur and Jaiveer Singh of Agra were adjudged as best batsman and bowler respectively. Javed Shamim was declared as man of the match.
