Kanpur: Aanjaneya Suryavanshi’s fine century and his double hundred (225 runs) partnership for opening wicket pushed UP on a very strong position as they scored 433 for 9 in their second innings on the third day of Col C K Nayudu Trophy tournament being played at M A chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Thursday.
UP, having a valuable 65 runs lead in the first innings, now have a lead of 498 runs and a wicket in hand.
With this mammoth total they will go for a win on the fourth and last day of the match on Friday.
It was Aanjaneya’s second century in four innings and he scored 135 runs in 172 balls, hammering 14 boundaries and 2 sixes. A century was expected from his opening wicket partner Siddharth Yadav but luck did not favour him and he missed his century by just one run. Akhil Scaria scalped him when Anand Krishnan held him. Siddharth made 99 runs with the help of 8 boundaries and 3 sixes. In fact he had blocked one end and assisted Aanjaneya to score. That’s why he had faced 163 deliveries for his 99 runs.
After Siddharth, Aanjaneuya could not stay long in the middle and after adding just 23 runs he returned back to pavilion when Vishweshar trapped him in front of wicket. Kerala bowlers staged a comeback claiming Sahab

In between Sameer Chaudhary and Pranjal Saini batted with determination and scored 76 and unbeaten 59 runs, respectively. Two batsmen also joined in the middle and added 71 runs in their union for 7th wicket. Vishnu P Kumar broke their union claiming Sameer Chaudhary for 76 came in 113 deliveries with the help of 10 boundaries. Pranjal Saini is batting on 59 runs facing 142 balls.
For Kerala, Fanoos F picked 4 wickets for 107 runs. Vishweshar A Suresh and Vishnu P Kumar both claimed two wickets each.
