KANPUR: The nation which has turned 60, will test its democratic credentials for the 15th time in the coming week. The Lok Sabha elections will be conducted across the country in five phases, several dimensions will be visited and various colours of democracy will unfurl. The candidates touching the soiled feet of farmers, promise of 35 kg of ration to poors, rich business-tycoons in the fray, naked promotion of nepotism and much more.
The city of 55 lakhs residents, Kanpur too is having its own share of fun in democracy's circus.

More than a million will vote here on April 30, in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections. The counting of votes will be done on May 16.

Meanwhile, a lad from IIT, Omendra Bharat promises rich hope to city denizens with a meagre bank balance of Rs 35,000. No matter, whoever wins and looses, one thing is sure, their is no fun lost in democracy's circus.
