89 contestants in fray for KBA elections

Kanpur: As many as 89 contestants are in the fray for Kanpur Bar Association elections. According to incharge chairman Elders Committee Ved Prakash Arya, a Returning Officers’ team consisting of Rajesh Yadav, Ashwani Anand, Anand Sachan, Bhanu Pratap Dwivedi, Devi Prasad Mishra, Chandra Kumar Sarraf and Sushil Kumar Verma examined the nomination papers. The final list of the candidates will be pasted on notice board on Friday and voting will take place at DAV Degree College, on August 22.The Elders Committee once again appealed to the contesting candidates to remove their posters, banners and hoardings from the court premises. Ved Prakash Arya claimed that several candidates were not complying with the directives of the committee and appealed to not violate the code of conduct.The committee also asked the advocates, who had encroached on footpaths and roads to raise their chambers, to remove them at the earliest or legal proceedings would be initiated against them.
