Kanpur: A 60-year-old man, Gyan Prakash was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the verandah of his Hanspuram house under Naubasta police station on Tuesday afternoon.

His family members suspect he was murdered by unidentified miscreants during a loot incident. The police however said no injury marks were found on the deceased.

According to the police, Gyan Prakash used to stay alone while his son Dhirendra, an engineer, lives in Noida and his daughter, stays in Shyamnagar area. Gyan Prakash, had last spoken to his son Dhirendra on late Monday evening.

"Dhirendra, thereafter had asked his uncle Virendra, who stays in Panki, to visit Gyan," said a police official at Naubasta police station. "On getting no response despite repeated knocks, Virendra scaled the boundary and found Gyan Prakash lying unconscious. He alerted the neighbours, who informed the police," said police.
