5 notorious criminals held in separate encounters

Kanpur: Mahoba police arrested five notorious criminals following encounters at two different locations. The joint police team of SOG, Srinagar and Ajnar police stations achieved this success.In the first encounter at the Barisal Temple Parikrama route in the Srinagar police station area, Gaya Pal and Devi Charan Rajput were apprehended. The criminals fired at the police, and in retaliation, Gaya Pal was shot in the leg. The police recovered a pistol, cartridges, Rs 4,000 in cash, gold and silver jewellery, and a Pulsar bike from them.The second encounter took place in the village of Nagaradang in the Ajnar police station area where one Chhote Singh alias Jai Singh, Shankar Singh Rajput, and Pramod Kumar Gupta were arrested. They were found with a pistol, cartridges, Rs 21,000 in cash, stolen jewellery, and an Apache motorcycle. All arrested criminals have several serious cases, including murder, robbery, and dacoity, registered against them. The injured criminal Chhotey Singh is receiving medical treatment.ASP Vandana Singh said that this operation will help curb crime in the area.
