KANPUR: Three people died while one other sustained critical wounds after an unidentified vehicle hit a CNG auto in Banda district late Tuesday night.

Police promptly responded to the incident and transported four critically injured individuals to hospital, where medical staff pronounced three auto passengers dead.

Due to severe injuries, one person was referred to Kanpur for advanced medical care. The deceased individuals were from Pesta Bilgaon village.

The incident took place on the Khurhand-Bilgaon link road within the Girwa police station jurisdiction of Banda district. According to Banda's Additional Superintendent of Police Shiv Raj, the accident took place late Tuesday night when an unidentified vehicle struck a CNG auto on the specified route.

On being informed, local police arrived at the scene and rushed driver Pradeep Kumar, Amit Kumar (12), Sadhu, and Ram Sanehi to hospital. Medical staff declared Pradeep Kumar, Amit Kumar, and Sadhu dead, whilst Ram Sanehi was rushed to Kanpur for advanced treatment.

The authorities have notified the bereaved families and are proceeding with their investigation into the incident.
