29 schoolgirls fall sick after drinking milk

Kanpur: As many as 29 girl inmates fell sick due to suspected food poisoning after consuming milk at Awasiya Balika Vidyalaya at Saurikh locality in Kannauj district on Monday. The students complained of stomach ache after having milk in breakfast on Monday morning, police said.

There are 100 students enrolled in Awasiya Balika Vidyalaya, of which 80 were present. "Twenty nine students were admitted at Saurikh community health centre. Eight of them were shifted to the district hospital," SHO Saurikh Rajnesh Singh Chauhan said. Food samples have being collected and sent for lab testing.
