2 sentenced to 5 yrs RI for murder bid
Kanpur: Additional district and session judge VI th Avaneesh Dixit convicted Prashant Singh Jadaun and Shalu for an attempt to kill an advocate and punished them with five years rigorous imprisonment along with a fine to the tune of Rs 13,000.
According to the additional district government counsel, a report was lodged by Sandeep Shukla, resident of Harjendra Nagar Kanpur on November 30, 2001and he claimed in the FIR that along with his brother advocate Sudhir Shukla, he had visited Kailash Mandir Shivala as part of a marriage procession.

Around 10 pm, when he and his brother were returning, Prashant Singh Jadaun, resident of Praryan Narayan Shivala intercepted them and attacked with a knife. He suffered a knife wound on his hand while his brother Sudhir too got injured.
The prosecution presented as many as eight witnesses and on the basis of their evidence and the medical report the presiding judge held Aditya Prashant Singh and Shalu guilty and sentenced them to five years in prison.
