KANPUR: As many as 13 aspirants filed their nomination papers for election of teachers and graduate constituencies on the last day of nominations on Thursday.

It being the alst day, a large number of aspirants filed nominations before the returning officer at commissioner office. Five aspirants submitted their candidature for Teachers’ constituency and eight filed papers for Graduate constituency.

The five aspirants who filed papers for Teachers’ constituency are Vinod Kumar, Shiv Varan Singh and Om Prakash (both independent), Sanjay Kumar Mishra (Indian National Congress), and Venu Ranjan Bhadoria (BJP).

Venu had also filed his nomination papers on Wednesday last. He filed another set of papers in the presence of senior BJP officials on Thursday. Vinod Kumar had also filed papers earlier and filed another set on Thursday.

Arun Pathak of BJP filed one more set of nomination papers on Thursday though he had filed his candidature earlier. Neha Singh filed papers as Congress candidate. Mohd Mashroof, Kamlesh Kumar Yadav, Jay Sachan, Mahesh Chandra Verma, Mahesh Kumar Vishwakarma, and Santosh Kumar Dheewan (all independent candidates).
