10 bovines killed, many hurt as truck overturns

Kanpur: As many as 10 cattle, including a cow, were killed while several others were wounded after a truck overturned on Bidhuna-Erwakatra road in Auraiya district on Sunday.
According to reports, the truck carrying cattle overturned near Nakedi Pulia.
While 10 cattle, including a cow, died on the spot, several others suffered injuries in the incident.There were nearly 42 cattle inside the truck when the incident occurred.
On receiving the information, police reached the site and informed senior police officials who in turn roped in a team of veterinary doctors to treat the injured cattle.
The driver-attendant of the truck however managed to flee after the accident. Police have sent the injured animals to a local ‘Gaushala’ and buried the dead animals.
Bidhuna Kotwali in-charge Sujit Verma said a case is being registered against the smugglers under the relevant sections of IPC.
The truck owner is being traced with the help of the vehicle’s registration number plate.
