3 friends drown in Luni River

Jodhpur: Three friends drowned in rain-fed Luni River at Shikarpura village on Friday. Their bodies were recovered after 2-3 hours. The deceased were identified as Karan Vishnav (19), Anil Dave (27) and Rajendra Rao (28).
Luni SHO Hukum Singh said the three were from Shikarpura and had come to enjoy swimming in Luni river. "None of them knew swimming.They drifted into deep water and got swept away in strong current of the river", said the officer.
The crowd near the river raised an alarm, and informed police, who rushed to the spot and brought in an SDRF team for rescue.
Local administration has announced financial assistance to the families of the deceased and has assured them of all possible help in this difficult time. Authorities have appealed to the public to avoid deep waters without proper training. and supervision.
