JODHPUR: Police arrested two persons following a clash between two groups of student leaders at the old campus of the Jai Narayan Vyas University here on Friday. In the incident, one person was injured. Police made the arrests for disturbing the peace.

Students union elections are yet to be announced, but the student leaders have become active on the university campuses, disturbing the law and order. Descending in the campuses with their supporters in the name of helping the students and winning their support, the faceoff with the rivals has begun vitiating the atmosphere of the campuses.

SHO (Udai Mandir) Lekhraj Sihag said that two groups of the students clashed while they were canvassing in support of their leaders in the old campus. One of the groups sat on demonstration at the gate of the campus, which triggered tension in the campus. They alleged the members of another group misbehaved with the hostel imnates and used foul language. "When resisted, they clashed with us," said a student.
