Sirohi woman abducted by 4, raped by minor; probe begins

Jodhpur: A 19-year-old woman from Sirohi was abducted by four people on July 18 and later raped by one of them, a minor. She was then sold to another man, with whom she ended up at a hospital in Udaipur following a road accident on July 21. The abduction and rape was reported to police on Tuesday.Initially, the rape survivor’s father had filed a missing person report about his daughter with Saroopganj police on July 19. On July 22, the family received a phone call stating that the woman was under treatment at Maharana Bhupal Hospital in Udaipur, upon which the girl’s father, along with other members of his family, reached Udaipur.“When we met her there, my daughter told us that she had gone outside the house for an urgent matter on the night of July 18. At that time, two young men on a bike, along with two others, kidnapped her and took her towards Udaipur. One of the four raped her for two days,” the father’s complaint stated.The woman told her family that on July 21, the four men sold her to Kalu Kalbeliya, a resident of Sabina village in Udaipur. When Kalbeliya was taking her on a motorcycle, they met with a road accident and she was admitted to the hospital in Udaipur.On the morning of July 22, when she regained consciousness, she found herself in Maharana Bhupal Hospital in Udaipur. With the help of a constable, to whom she narrated her story, she informed her family using his mobile phone.After she was discharged from hospital, her father took her to Saoopganj and filed a report against four persons, including a minor. Of these, two accused have been named in the report.
