Marwar, Vagad belts suffer from rain deficit
Jodhpur: Two months into the monsoon season, districts of Jodhpur and Pali divisions in Marwar region and districts of Vagad region in southern Rajasthan are facing a rainfall deficit.
Sirohi has received only 246.4mm of rain as against its average of 404.6mm. There is less rainfall in Jodhpur, Pali, Jalore, Banswara, Dungarpur, and Pratapgarh districts also.

These districts are in the grip of severe humidity but are not seeing any rain.
Director of the Met office in Jaipur, RD Sharma, said such conditions will prevail for two more days and change from Aug 3.
“Due to south westerly winds, this region is gripped with humidity. From Aug 3, a new weather system will bring rain,” he said.
The highest rainfall in the state has been recorded in Dausa at 460mm and the least in Jaisalmer.

3 Gujarat districts got highest excess rain in July across India
The coastal Saurashtra region in Gujarat recorded unprecedented rainfall between July 17 and 24. Devbhoomi Dwarka experienced a 1422% excess, followed by Porbandar (1101%) and Junagadh (712%). Overall, Gujarat had 23% excess rainfall, but notable disparities persisted between regions. IMD attributed the unusual rain to concurrent weather systems.
