Police book BJP leader in Pali for rape of woman

Jodhpur: Police in Pali have charged a BJP leader and three others with raping a woman and molesting her teenage daughter.
The police have conducted medical examination of the woman and are now investigating the case they have filed based on her complaint against the four under various sections of IPC and Pocso Act.
According to Mrityunjay Mishra, circle officer of Sojat City, a woman accused BJP leader Mohanlal Jat and three others, including two women accomplices, of raping her and molesting her daughter a month ago.
The woman claimed that she met Jat regarding a property in a residential project said to be owned by him. She alleged that Jat and his friend Mahesh Chandak raped her there and also molested her daughter with the help of two women.
Jat, who is general secretary of the BJP’s state unit, denied the allegations. “Neither do I know this woman nor have I ever met her. I do work in the real estate sector and also hold a position in the BJP. Many people have enmity with me,” he said and added that he will cooperate with police in the investigation.
