Doctor, 2 nurses put on APO over death of patient
Jodhpur: The MDM Hospital administration put a doctor and two nurses on APO on Saturday in relation to the death of a patient due to interruption of oxygen supply caused by the power shutdown in the trauma center of the hospital on Friday early morning. The action was taken following a preliminary report of the inquiry committee constituted by the hospital administration to fix the responsibility.“We have put the CMHO Kuldeep Singh, and two nurses Omaram and Manisha on APO. The detailed inquiry is in progress,” said hospital Superintendent Vikas Rajpurohit. An administrative inquiry has also been ordered paralelly by the divisional commissioner, which will be conducted by the ADM Sanjay Basu. He will submit his report by Monday. On the other hand, the Medical and Health minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar also reached the hospital on Saturday evening and held a meeting at the hospital. He inquired about the incident from the hospital superintendent and directed him to take strict action against those responsible for the negligence, which caused death of a patient.Khinvsar also directed the administration to take action against the company for the failure of the power back up of the ventilator, on which the patient had been kept and also find out the reason about the failure of the generator. It may be noted that a cancer patient, admitted at the Red Zone of the trauma center of the MDM Hospital Gopal Bhati had died after the supply of the oxygen had been disrupted following the power cut, which led to disfunctioning of the ventilator and break down f the generator. Family members of the patient had alleged that neither the CMO with charge of duty at night was present at the center nor the male nurse appeared to handle the situation.

I knew PO is Post Office. I think APO must be Additional Post Office. Secondly, all doctors and nurses should be trained in electrical maintenance wark. ITI diploma for Electrician and Plumber jobs should be mandatory for all medics and paramedics.Read allPost comment
