JODHPUR: An Indian man, Mohammad Arbaz, and a Pakistani woman, Ameena, tied the knot in an online wedding last week.
The ceremony was officiated by qazis from both sides and was attended by family members of both the bride and groom.
The groom was present at his home in Jodhpur, India, while the bride was at her home in Karachi, Pakistan. The two were connected through large LED screens to solemnize the cross-country wedding.

The groom's father, Mohammad Afzal, said that the wedding was held online because the visa process for Ameena was getting delayed. He added that despite the strained relations between India and Pakistan, marital bonds between people from both countries continue to be strong.
The groom, who is an advocate and video editor, said that he is now waiting for Ameena to get a visa so that she can come to India. He said that the wedding being solemnized online should make it easier for her to get a visa.
He mentioned that such weddings are not new, and other weddings have been conducted online in the past.
