Jodhpur man says his wife killed two kids, files case

Jodhpur: After two siblings were found drowned in a mysterious condition in the water tank of their house in Jodhpur’s Balesar area on Wednesday night, their father has accused their mother of killing them.
Baburam, a truck driver and resident of Tikamgarh village, said in his complaint lodged at Balesar police station on Thursday that it was his wife, Madhu Devi, who killed their two children—son Mahipal, 5, and daughter Pooja, 7—by pushing them into the water tank.
DSP Kailash Kanwar said the bodies of the two children were found in a water tank on Wednesday night. “On getting information from the villagers, a police team arrived at the house and retrieved the bodies. They were sent to a hospital at Balesar, where doctors declared both children dead,” he said. A murder case was registered against Madhu Devi based on Baburam’s complaint, and a probe has been launched, he added.
Baburam, who mostly stays away from home on work, told police that he reached home at about 7pm on Wednesday evening and, after having dinner, inquired from his wife about the two children as he did not see them around. “My wife first said they were sleeping, but later said they were just here. We went outside and called the family members. We called around loud in nearby hamlets and asked people about the two kids. Someone suggested we check the water tank in the house. Since it was dark at night, we used a stick to search inside the tank, and the stick hit the children. We then pulled the children out,” he said in his complaint.
