JODHPUR: The Pipar City police of Jodhpur district reached sacked minister Rajendra Singh Gudha's official residence in Jaipur on Thursday for a spot verification in connection with the alleged abduction and gang-rape of two minor girls from Pipar.

The action followed the arrest of an accused, who claimed that the girls, both aged around 17 years, were taken to Gudha's residence for a brief stay. The girls had alleged that they were raped there. Police are verifying the date on which the girls were allegedly brought to Gudha's residence.
SP (Jodhpur Rural) Dharmendra Singh Yadav, however, said there is no final confirmation of the involvement of Gudha, the Congress MLA from Udaipurvati in Jhunjhunu district, in the crime so far and that the investigation was at a preliminary stage.

The SP said that the two minor girls from Pipar City were allegedly abducted and gang-raped by two men from Bikaner at different places and that a case was lodged against them under POCSO Act and IPC sections at Pipar City police station on July 2.
The girls were later rescued from Ambala railway station in Punjab, and both the accused, Ashok Bishnoi, 23, and Meghraj Jat, 19, were arrested by Pipar police on July 30. The arrested duo is currently in the custody of Pipar police.

During interrogation, the accused duo told police that they had taken the girls to Gudha's residence in Jaipur, where they had stayed at the guard-room with the help of a staffer there, Yadav said. He said it may be a guard-room or a temporary shelter for visitors on the residential premises of Gudha.
"For verification of the facts, we sent a team along with the accused to the spot in Jaipur. The team checked the CCTV footage of the main gate and the guard-room/shelter at Gudha's residence and interrogated the staff there," Yadav added.
