Homeguard held for Sexual assault of toddler in Jodhpur

Jodhpur: Police arrested a man on Wednesday for sexually assaulting a three-year-old toddler in the second such incident in four days in the city. A case has been registered against the accused, identified as homeguard Kishan Lal Jingar (44), under the Pocso Act.The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday evening near near the child’s home in Pratap Nagar area of the city, ADCP Labhuram Choudhary said. “The toddler was playing outside her house on Tuesday evening, when the accused, who was passing by on a motorcycle, noticed her. He stopped his bike and called the girl over. He placed her on his lap and began to molest her. The child panicked and started to scream, attracting the attention of a passerby,” he said. The accused then fled from the spot. The passerby then took the girl to her home and informed the parents about the incident. They went to the police and filed a report. The parents of the girl are daily wagers and were busy with evening chores when the incident happened.This is the second incident four days after the rape of a three-year-old girl in the city. tnn
