History-sheeter nabbed from hideout in Jodhpur

Jodhpur: Stung by allegations of bias made by history-sheeter Kailash Manju, the district police here arrested his rival, gangster Vikram Singh Nandia, who was hiding in a rocky outcrop near his village of Nandia Prabhawati near Jodhpur, on Tuesday.
Nandia carried a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head and was wanted in a case of attempting to murder his rival Rakesh Manju in February. Police also arrested his aide, Dinesh Bambani.
According to the police, a close watch was kept on family members of Nandia in his village and it was noticed that a person would carry a tiffin twice a day from Nandia’s brother’s hotel while heading towards the rocky outcrop near the village. “After confirming that somebody was hidden there, we laid a siege around the rocky outcrop. The moment the person hiding there came out from a temple situated amid the rocks to receive the tiffin, he was recognized as Nandia and caught immediately,” said a police officer.
The arrests have come in the wake of allegations by Kailash Manju against Jhanwar SHO Parmeshwari Devi of being hand in glove with Nandia. Kailash is also a history sheeter and is the uncle of Rakesh Manju. TNN
