Edu minister stresses on teachers, school infra

Jodhpur: Education and panchayati Raj minister Madan Dilawar emphasised the need of adequate teachers and infrastructure before opening a new school or upgrading an existing school so that the students do not suffer.
“If we open new schools without preparation and deliberations, we are doing injustice to the children," the minister said, adding that the interest of the students is a top priority.
Dilawar said this while talking to media in Jodhpur on Saturday after attending the on-going conference of the teachers’ associations.
He said this in reference to the Hindi medium schools’ conversion into English medium schools and upgradation of existing schools, especially in rural areas.
“I will talk to the chief minister to first develop the required infrastructure and required number of teachers before starting a new school or upgrading an existing school”, said Dilawar while admitting that the state is short of 22% teachers of required strength.
