Drunken man hacks father to death in Pali

Jodhpur: A 30-year-old man allegedly hacked his 65-year-old father to death at their home in Pali district on Wednesday evening in a drunken attack triggered by the latter’s rebuke over his consumption of alcohol. The attack on Churaram Baori took place when he was working in his farm at Kerala village, and the accused, Tararam, was so much under the influence of alcohol that he could not even walk properly, said police. Tararam was arrested on Wednesday night.“Churaram’s wife tried her best to save him from their inebriated son, but in vain. She then tried to stop bleeding from Churaram’s wounds by applying ash from the hearth but failed to save his life,” said an officer of Jaitpura police station.When an inebriated Tararam reached home on Wednesday evening, Churaram began scolding him over his addiction to alcohol, which led to altercation between them. Tararam flew into a rage and picked up an axe lying nearby. He delivered blow after blow on his father with the axe. Churaram sustained seven hacking wounds on his chest and neck, and his neck was just short of being severed, said police. Efforts by Tararam’s mother to stop him failed.A police team reached the spot after receiving information and took a profusely bleeding Churaram to a hospital in Pali, where he was declared dead.

Nanda More, a domestic help, was found dead at her home in Shabri Nagar Multi. Her son Raunak, a waiter, was arrested for the murder. Raunak confessed to the murder after returning from a birthday party and taking his mother to the hospital.
