JAIPUR/JODHPUR: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s attempt to drag the name of Bhagwan Singh Rolsahabsar, a respected scholar of the Rajput community, in the Sanjivani Credit Cooperative Society scam while criticising Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in Barmer has offended the community.
Shri Pratap Foundation, a Rajput social organisation, has written a letter to the chief minister stating that such comments about Rolsahabsar did not constitute a dignified behaviour on his part and advised him not to use the community leader’s name for any political agenda.

“You are the chief minister of the state. Making such an irrelevant comment about Rolsahabsar was not a dignified gesture,” said the letter adding that Rolsahabsar leads a life of high standards.
Gehlot in his address in Barmer on Saturday had claimed to have called up Rolsahabsar to insist his disciple Shekhawat to return the money of the depositors of the society and had termed his non-reaction as his compulsion.
“Rolsahabsar could not be the part of an impious and inferior design to meet someone’s personal interests on political platform. That is why, he did not consider it appropriate to grant you request on phone,” stated the letter while providing answer to Gehlot’s “compulsion’ dig.
Slamming Gehlot for continuously condemning Shekhawat in Sanjivani scam, foundation convener Mahaveer Singh Sarvadi said that despite there being other similar cases, only Sanjivani case has been picked up specifically to malign the image of one political figure by another political figure.

He claimed that the matter has been kept alive purposefully for the past four years only for the character assassination of Shekhawat and damage the political career of an emerging political leader in the similar way as had been done with Rajendra Singh Rathore by framing him in a false case.
The letter also mentioned that earlier even a senior leader like Bhairon Singh Shekhawat had not been spared and attempt to destroy his political career was made by the Congress and today the similar attempt is being made to push back a young emerging leader of your own party in a purported hint at Sachin Pilot.
