Jodhpur: Two persons were killed and another seriously injured when a car in which they were travelling hit a stone-laden truck from rear near Sekhala under Shergarh police station in Jodhpur on Jodhpur-Jaisalmer highway on Friday.
Two of the passengers died on the spot while third passenger was rushed to MDM Hospital in Jodhpur where he is battling for life at the Trauma Centre.
The deceased have been identified as a businessman from Jodhpur Manoj Kankaria (50) and his manager Ishwar Singh Meratia (40), while the injured has been identified as Ritik Kankaria (24). He is son Kankaria.
According to Sekhala chowki in-charge Mangilal Sankhla, Kankaria was going to Jaisalmer on a business tour in his car.
His manager Singh and son Ritik had been accompanying him. The speed of the car was so high that half of the car was completely mangled. “Ritik was driving the car. When they reached near a petrol pump at about 1.45pm, their car smashed into a truck, loaded with stone, from behind at a very high speed,” said Sankhla. TNN
